Modern Static Caravan Holidays
Static Caravan Holidays

Despite the image portayed in popular culture about caravans and caravanners (remember the merciless ribbing from the TV show Top Gear) of caravanners being doddering old gits clogging up Britains roads by driving at 20mph and sitting around campsites with tartan blankets around their knees, the modern reality of caravan holidays is far removed from this undeserved stereotype. Caravan holidays in the UK have been steadily gaining popularity over recent years for many good reasons.

Renting a static caravan is much cheaper than a hotel room, B&b or holiday cottage with virtually no disadvantages. Modern static caravans normally have hot and cold running water, central heating, fridge/freezer, microwave, TV, stereo systems, proper fitted beds and plenty of space for families and storage for all their odds and ends.

You also dont have to be clogging up the roads if you opt for static caravan, as they are semi permanent fixtures of a holiday park so you simply drive to the park in your family car. These caravan parks also tend to be situated in areas of great natural beauty surrounded by plenty to see and do, so a static caravan is an excellent base to holidayin a beautiful location at a budget price. Once you get the carvanning bug there is also the option to purchase a sited static caravan and offset some of the costs (such as site fees and static caravan insurance) by letting out the caravan when you and your family are not using it!

The best caravan parks nowadays will have everything you need on site, launderettes, shower/wash blocks, shops, pubs, restaurants and takeaways, gas bottle exchange, adventure playgrounds and even swimming pools and sports halls for larger parks - some are wi-fi enabled so you can use your laptop in the caravan!

So, you dont have to rough it by having a caravan holiday, you have all the comforts of home, can stay in some of the most beautiful locations, have access to plenty of activities and amenities and all this for a budget price - its no wonder caravanning is becoming so popular in the UK with even celebrities like Lorraine Kelly jumping on the caravan bandwagon!
